June Jordan Perdue

June 27, 1940 — March 31, 2025

June J. Perdue, age 84, of Hartsville, South Carolina peacefully entered her eternal home on March 31, 2025.

June had a deeply personal relationship with Jesus, loved God, and her family. Her devotion to her children was evident throughout her entire life.  She loved and valued many special friends and once June loved you, that love tied her to you forever. She was a master baker and enjoyed making cakes, pies, biscuits and cookies for those she loved. Nothing brought her greater joy than to share a meal with her family.  She loved planting and nurturing beautiful flowers and kept a meticulous yard filled with her favorites.

She was a member of Mt. Elon Baptist Church in Lydia, where she was loved and shared many special times with her family and friends.

Born in Darlington June 27, 1940 she was a lifelong resident of Darlington County. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Bobby Perdue, mother Maggie Windham and father William L. Jordan. She worked at Union Carbide, later ESAB, for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Beard (Al) of Lexington, and son Michael Weatherford (Linda) of Lamar; two grandchildren, Robbie and Jordan Weatherford, and three great granddaughters, Addison, Murphy, and Daylee. She is also survived by her sister, Theo Odom, of Vass, NC, and special nephews, Arthur, Tommy and Ricky Young of Darlington.

Arrangements for the service are being handled with the utmost care by Belk Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 3, at Mt. Elon Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the church fellowship hall prior to the service. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Hartsville. Memorials may be made to Mt. Elon Baptist Church, PO Box 38, Lydia, SC 29079.  The family will receive friends at other times at 331 W. Seven Pines Street Lamar, SC.

A special thanks to Ka-Ran Howle, Shonda Johnson, and the many caregivers at The Retreat at Carolina Bay.  Also, to Sydney Smith and the Crescent Hospice team who lovingly and graciously cared for her and the family.

June will be deeply missed, but her faith, love, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her, will never be forgotten.
