Julia "Betty" M Bell

Julia "Betty" McCutcheon Bell, 78, died Monday, January 7, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 12th in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (Bell Cemetery) on Lee State Park Road in Lamar, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Rose McCutcheon and the late Elizabeth Hudson McCutcheon Bell. Upon the untimely death of her father when Betty was 4, she was raised by her mother and step-father, M.J. Bell. Mrs. Bell worked as an administrative assistant for GE, DUPONT and briefly for Robinson Nuclear Plant. She always enjoyed working in her yards and tending to her flowers. She was a member of Lamar Baptist Church. Surviving are her cousins, Douglas Hudson, John Hudson, Barbara Ford, nephews, Johnny Bell and Jimmy Bell, and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerome "Pete" Bell.
