DARLINGTON- Judy Runette Fennell Perkins, age 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with family gathered by her bedside, on Christmas eve. Funeral Services will be 2:00 Friday, December 29, in the Chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment following in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Judy was born in Coward on September 2, 1949, daughter of the late George "G.C." Charlie Fennell and Sally Pauline Matthews Fennell. Mrs. Perkins unselfishly devoted her life to being a foster parent for Growing Home. She was also the owner of Slo-Poke Bait and Tackle. She loved her family to the fullest, and enjoyed time spent with them, especially her grands and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children: Bennie "Bucky" R. (Brenda) Perkins, Tony (Angela) Perkins, Pamela (Alan) Haws Lisa (Johnny) Howle, Eric S. (Jeri Cope) Perkins, seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, a special daughter, Connie Ogburn, her last living sibling, Faye McKnight, and Judy's friend and companion, Mr. Tommy McElveen.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-ceded in death by her husband, Bennie "Buck" Perkins, and many siblings.
