Joyce Jones (Tyner) Strome

Joyce Ann Jones Strome, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. A private graveside service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 19th in New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Joyce was born in Darlington County on November 6, 1942 to the late Archie Tyner and Marie Byrd Tyner. Joyce was a loving and devoted mother and always enjoyed family gatherings. She was described by her family and friends as a funny, sassy, and loving person who loved a good laugh. Joyce had a green thumb, always caring for her garden and liked to go riding in her golf cart.

Joyce is survived by her children, Sherrille (Tommy) Wilks, Wanda Parnell, Richard (Pam) Jones, Michael (Vickie) Jones, Ronnie Jones; grandchildren, Jessica Moore, Scott Parnell, Josh Parnell, Amber Mercado, Kendall Jones, Erica Holden, Chase Holden, Chad Jones, Shane Jones, Kaylee Jones, Casey Jones, Courtney Jones, Bertha Jones, and Ashley Downey. She is also survived by thirty-two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Troy Jones and Bruce Strome; she is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kristie Wilks; four sisters; and two brothers.
