Joseph "Leonard" Galloway, Sr., passed away November 1, 2024 at 73. He would have been 74 November 3rd. A visitation will take place on Thursday, November 7th from 2:00pm until 3:00pm in Belk Funeral Home Lamar, with a graveside service being held in Lamar Memorial Cemetery immediately following the visitation.
Joseph lived most of his adult life in the Savannah, GA area. He was drafted during the Vietnam war to serve as a mechanic in the Army, he was a mechanic all his life and owned two successful businesses in Marietta, GA, he built his own race car and raced it at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA., he built an late model race car, an Arca car and a Winston Cup car for race car drivers he also sponsored. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends, he loved to dance to country music, racing, gardening, cooking, football, and baseball.
Joseph is survived by his wife Michaele Lyn Galloway of Ludowici, GA, his brother Bryan (Robin) Galloway of Lamar, South Carolina, his daughters Angel Watts (Alan Watts) of Acworth, GA , Regina Najera (Jose Najera) of Carrollton, Georgia, Rhonda Thomas of Savannah, GA, Kathie McEver (Robert McEver) of Dallas, GA and Step Son John Porter of Hinesville, GA, his grandchildren Ashley, Jon, Lexy, Robby, Bianca, Joseph, Adrian, Faith, William, Emily, and Gunner, his great grandchildren Olivia, Eva, Maddux, Logan, Nicholas, his nieces Marion (Jason), Denise, Tonya, Shaun.
He is preceded in death by his father Marion Galloway, mother, Wilhelmina Galloway, his brother Marion Galloway, his sister Ann Bell, and his son Joseph Leonard Galloway Jr.
