Johnny Miles

John "Johnny" Benjamin Miles passed away Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024.  A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 3rd from 5 to 7 pm at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington.  His Funeral Service will take place Friday, July 5th at The Florence Motor Speedway at 3pm, with burial taking place immediately after at Miles Cemetery in Coward, SC.

Johnny was born April 20,1951 to the late Edward D Miles and Lillie Mae Evans Miles. He was raised by his grandparents the late Albert and Pauline Evans. Mr. Miles was a mechanic working for the Chrysler dealerships He was a Dodge man. He used to work at the little drag strip in Darlington. Johnny slso hauled golf carts for good friends Jimmy and Shawnette McDonald at Jimmy's Golf carts. He loved camping, his favorite place to camp was. Apache campground at the beach. He loved racing, even after giving up having his own race car you could find him in the stands on race night with his racing family. Maxie, Floyd, Jesse, Gilbert, Jim, Jason, R.J and many others.

Surviving is his wife Dawn Sports Miles, two sons Benji Miles and Michael Miles. stepson John Howle grandchildren Savannah, Gunner, Mackenzie, Khloe miles and Hunter Howle. Sisters Sharon Tanner, Debbie (Larry) Baxley 2 aunts who were raised like sisters. Jean Alexander and Annie Ruth Yarborough, sisters in law Helen Miles, Amy (Robin) Taylor Special cousin Barbara (Arnold) Poston.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his sons Lorrie Miles. daughter in law Amy Miles, brothers Eddie "Pee Wee", Terry and Vinson Miles

The family would like to thank McLeod Infusion and radiation dept Dr Rao and Amy Thomas, Dr Miranda, McLeod Hospice Nurse Tami, chaplains Mack and Jessie, Leah. Also, The Barfield family and Dillon Motor Speedway and the Zacharias family and Florence motor Speedway for all their love compassion and care during this difficult time.
