Johnny Holloway, Jr. age 94, passed away Sunday morning at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence. A memorial service will take place on Monday, April 8th at 3:00pm in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home, with a visitation being held one hour prior at the funeral home.
Johnny was born in Darlington County on February 10, 1930, he is the son of the late Johnnie James Holloway, Sr. and Carrie Blanche (Humphries) Holloway. Johnny served his country in the Army and later after returning home served his town in law enforcement. He worked as a truck driver for the majority of his life but also had many jobs throughout, some of which being, a farmer, working on the railroad, and most recently being named honorary security guard of Medford Nursing Center in Darlington.
Surviving Johnny is his son, Mike (Janice King) Holloway, grandchildren Amber Holloway (Alex) Rodgers and Megan Holloway. He is also survived by two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by a son, Mitch Holloway, his siblings: Fannie Bell, Mary Ellen, Catheline, Lily, Lourina, Cora Lee, Nellie, Johnie, and Joseph Holloway.
