Johnny R. Boykin

Johnny R. Boykin, age 60 passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, August 4th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm Thursday at the funeral home. Born September 27, 1955 in Darlington, SC; Johnny is the son of the late Daniel Boykin and Frances Gandy Boykin Coleman. He worked as a fire fighter for Palmetto Rural until his heart attack in 2005. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 35 years, Lillie Boykin; his step-son, Kenny Jackson; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, DJ, and Emma Jackson; his brother, Ronald (Rosie) Boykin; his sister-in-law, Sharon Boykin; his step-brother, Lynn Coleman of NC; three nephews and one niece. Preceded in death in addition to his parents are his brother, Mitchell Boykin and his step-father, Henry Coleman. The family would like to thank the City of Darlington Fire Department for their help with Johnny before he had a ramp and also for their help along with Palmetto Rural for the ramp they built. A special thanks to Nurse Leah Thomas and Ronnie Ashley, HHA for their special care they provided for Mr. Boykin when needed. Memorials may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Belk Funeral Home, PO Box 523 Darlington, SC 29540 to help with funeral expenses.
