Johnnie J. Young

Johnnie J. Young, age 95 died in his home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. A visitation will be held Friday, July 16th from 10-11 a.m. at Belk Funeral Home, with a graveside service following at 11:15 a.m. at Indian Branch Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Florence Veteran's Honor Guard.

Born on June 20, 1926, Johnnie was the son of the late Jacob C. Young and Ella Suggs Young. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII. Johnnie owned and operated Young's Body Shop, and worked as an insurance appraisal. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his children, Johnnie (Jolene) Young, Susan (Mike) Watford and Jacob Young; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Lewis Young; his siblings, Alton, Leon, Raymond, and Virginia.
