John "Buddy" Hudson Pickett

March 4, 1939 — December 5, 2018

John "Buddy" Hudson Pickett, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 15th at Southside Free Will Baptist Church, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Born March 4, 1939, John is the son of the late James I. Pickett and Cassie Hudson Pickett. He was a "workaholic" who worked as an electrician for Perfection Gear, then Superior Machine, and most recently in maintenance at the Florence YMCA. He enjoyed fishing, and he liked to read. John attended Southside Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Linda Cunningham Pickett; son, John Thomas Pickett; nieces, Debbie New, Becky, Sissy, Scottie, and many other extended family members.
