John Evans Gainey

John Evans Gainey, age 76 died Tuesday, December 21, 2021. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26th at Flat Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with burial following at the church cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-3 Sunday at the church, and other times at the home of Tina and David Weatherford, 1840 Lazy Pines Rd. Darlington.

Born on November 29, 1945, John was the son of the late Roosevelt Gainey and Geneva Cline Gainey. He was a farmer in the Dovesville area, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family. John was a member of Flat Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are his siblings, Robert Gainey, Blanche (Heywood) Gainey, Ronnie (Anita) Gainey and Lela Tyner; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mike Smith.
