John "John Boy" David Weatherford

John David "John Boy" Weatherford Jr.,  age 72, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday at Belk Funeral Home. A private graveside service with military honors will be held Tuesday.

Born and raised in Darlington, he was the son of the late John D. Weatherford and Ada Mae O'Neal Weatherford Hudson.  Mr.  Weatherford served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and was a Vietnam veteran. John Boy retired from Wellman after a career as a specialist and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Watford Weatherford, his son, David (Heather) Weatherford, a brother, Larry (Marsheila) Weatherford of GA and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Brenda Williamson and Joyce Watford.
