John Barnes

John Burton Barnes died peacefully in his sleep on October the 1st 2024 after suffering a recent stroke, at MUSC medical center in Florence SC. He was 77 years old. John was born on December the 10th 1946, in Baltimore MD. He lived in Florence SC and spent the last few years traveling the states. John was preceded in death by his father, John H Barnes, his mother Mildred G. (Eyler) Barnes, his Sister Betty R. (Barnes) Austin, his brothers, Lee T. Barnes and Paul N. Barnes, his daughter Rebecca Barnes and granddaughter Charlet Barnes. He is survived by his sister Kitty E. (Barnes) Warner, stepdaughter Roxanne Maloy, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. John served in the Air Force as a mechanic and was a fully disabled veteran.

There will be 2 Memorial services. The first for his friends in SC on Wednesday the 23rd at 5 p.m. in front of his camper. The second will be for family and friends, held at Haughs Cemetery in Ladiesburg, MD on Saturday October 26th at 10:00 a.m. We will have a light luncheon at Taneytown Park immediately after.
