John Allen Parker, age 34, passed away suddenly on July 11, 2018 while on vacation in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27 at Florence National Cemetery, with full Military Honors provided by the Florence Veteran's Honor Guard, directed by Belk Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service at Blackwater Farms, 2026 Fire Tower Rd. Florence, SC 29506.
John is the son of John K. "John John" Parker and Vicki Maloch Parker. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cecil Oakley Parker and his grandfather, Mack Maloch. John is survived by his parents, and his children, Sean, Skyler, Gage, Riley, and Sydney; his brother, Hunter (Ashley) and nephew, Max; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also surviving are his grandparents, Lynette Maloch, Janice Maloch, and John Henry Parker.
John Allen was raised and went to Darlington Schools. He entered the U.S. Army at age 18 in 2002 until 2015. John did four tours of duty in Iraq in the Stryker Division, Comp. C 1st Battalion 5th Infantry Regiment. His favorite pastime was wetting a hook. He never met a stranger and his contagious laughter and fun, loving spirit will be missed.
