Jo Ann White Andrews Darlington - Jo Ann White Andrews, May 10, 1930 - March 9, 2016, passed away peacefully at a Hospice facility in Mt. Pleasant. A graveside service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, March 13th at Byrd Cemetery, 100 Layton Dr. in Timmonsville, SC, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Jo Ann was born in Timmonsville and is the daughter of the late H. Dewey White and Thelma W. White. She was a devoted mother who strived to be completely surrounded by her family. Time spent together with her family, especially at Santee, was very important to her as she never missed a chance to get her family together. Jo Ann was a graduate of Coker College in Hartsville and a girls' basketball coach at Lamar High School. Her time spent coaching brought her many proud and wonderful memories and lifelong friendships. Jo Ann found pleasure in restoring and refinishing antiques, and spent many years of her life in antique sales and auction business. Jo Ann declared Jesus Christ as her Lord and was a lifelong member of Lamar United Methodist Church. She is survived by her three children, Jimmy Andrews of Charleston, Ricky (Sue) Andrews of Lamar, and Robbie (Lauren) DeLoach of Beaufort. Jo Ann also leaves behind four grandchildren, Ross (Courtney) Andrews of Columbia, Austin Andrews (Aubrey) Lee of Charleston, Matt (Shannon) Rodgers of Columbia, Anna (Geoffrey) Mikota of Charleston, and a new addition to the family, a great-grandson, Joseph Banks Lee, son of Austin and Aubrey Lee born March 7, 2016; her brother, H. Thad (Johnnie Jean) White of Florence, many loving nieces and nephews, and a host of long-time friends. Preceded in death are her former husband, Harold Andrews; her brothers, Marvin White, Hugh White, and Donald White; her sisters, Katherine Ham and Loma Davis. The family will receive friends following the service until 5:30pm at the home of Ricky and Sue Andrews, 612 Club Dr. Lamar, SC 29069. The family requests that donations be made to Lamar United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 555 Lamar, SC 29069, or to the Byrd Cemetery Maintenance Fund, P.O. Box 187 Timmonsville, SC 29161.
