Jimmy Nichols

James "Jimmy" A. Nichols, age 76, entered his eternal home on Thursday, January 19, 2023. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home on Monday, January 23 at 11:00am, with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 22 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.

Jimmy was born on October 29, 1946 in Hartsville, SC. He is the son of the late James O. and Emmie Sowell Nichols. Jimmy worked at Sonoco in the Film Core Department for 43 years where he was a member of the Sonoco Fire/Ems Department and a member of the Old Timers Club. He served in the South Carolina National Guard. Jimmy also served as a EMT for the Darlington Rescue Squad for over 35 years, he was a member of the COOTS Club (Mechanicsville). He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and attended the Wednesday Men's Group Breakfast. Jimmy was devoted to his family and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gandy Nichols, daughter, Amy (Timmy) Howle, grandchildren, Trevor and Drayton Howle, sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and William Leslie.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his daughter, Monica Ann Nichols.
