Jesse L. Morgan

Jesse L. Morgan, age 81, passed away on Monday, February 17th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21st, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Grove Hill Cemetery, conducted by Belk Funeral Home. Following the service, the family will welcome visitors to share in remembrance and celebration of his life.

Born on December 23rd, 1943, in Kite, Georgia. Jesse was the son of the late L.E. Morgan and Thelma Prather Morgan. A hardworking and dedicated individual, he was the owner of Morgan Truck Repair, where his passion for his work and craftsmanship earned him respect in the community. Jesse found joy in simple pleasures—working with his hands, fishing, and enjoying the peacefulness of his pontoon boat.  He served the South Carolina National Guard.   He cherished time spent with family, often gathering for meals at Sandy's on Sundays.

Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Gracie, and his children Eddie (Lisa) Morgan of Darlington, Johnny Morgan of Darlington, and Sandy (John) Leggett of Fairmont, North Carolina. His memory will also live on through his grandchildren, Jake (Emily) Leggett of Fairmont, North Carolina, Blake (Haley) Leggett of Fairmont, North Carolina, Victoria (Kelly) Lee of Florence, Scarlett (Tommy) Howell of Darlington, Lorraine Morgan, and Blair (Jerry) Weatherford.  He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Hadley Morgan Leggett, Riley Leggett, and Hazel Leggett plus eight more, his sister Tammy Stengel of Darlington, and sister-in-law Bonita Bailey of Nichols.

Jesse's legacy will be forever remembered by those who knew him—his kindness, his strength, and the love he gave to his family.
