Jesse Clifford Eastman, age 63, passed away on July 5, 2023. A funeral service will be held at Freedom Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 11th at 11:00am, burial will follow the service at 1:00pm in Florence National Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the home of his mother, Mary S. Eastman 135 Jewel Drive Darlington, SC from 11:00am until 6:00pm on Friday, July 7th until Monday, July 10th.
Jesse was born in Lewiston, Maine on June 18, 1960 to Mary S. Damon Eastman and the late Frank Robert Eastman. Jesse served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked with DuPont, MarMac Wire, and Cal-Maine Foods as a truck driver. Jesse worked at Danny's Auto Repair. He was also an assistant mechanic for Minnehan Racing, and helped Hal Goodson and Rudy Branham as a mechanic. Jesse was a huge NASCAR fan, especially when it came to Dale Earnhardt.
He is survived by his mother; Mary Sheila Damon Eastman and her husband Bernal D. Mills, siblings; Shelene Ann Smith and Michael R. Eastman. He is also survived by his nephew, Matthew Smith, great-nephew, Ethan Smith, and cousins: Peter Turmenne, his most cherished cousin, Louene Baker; and Mark Mosher, Matthew Mosher, Rodney and Patty Damon. Jesse is also survived by his most cherished aunt; Mary (Levette) Dubios of Poland, Maine along with many other cousins, aunts, and uncles in Maine that he loved dearly.
Jesse is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Betty L. and Charles A. Damon, paternal grandparents; Pearl and Chester Murphy, brother-in-law; Ronnie M. Smith, and his canine companion, Daisey paternal Grandparent/Robert Eastman killed in WWII
