Jennifer White Sparks, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday May 11, 2026. Visitation will be held at the Belk Funeral Home in Lamar, SC on Friday May 15th at 7:00 PM. to 8:00pm. A graveside service will be performed on Saturday May 16th at 1:00 PM at Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church in Darlington, SC.
Jenny was born to Hugh D. White and Betty T. White and raised with her two brothers, the late Hugh D. White, Jr and Ronald M. White. Jenny wed James R. Sparks in 1974 and had two children, Mary and Jay Sparks. Jenny graduated from Lamar High School where she was an all-state basketball player. She later graduated from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. Jenny retired from the Darlington County Department of Social Services. She later had partial ownership in two family businesses. Jenny was a loving wife and mother and was known for her kindness to everyone. She loved the outdoors and spent much of her life caring for her horses. She especially enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers early in the morning and feeding the cats and cardinals.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Mary. Surviving is a son Jay, a daughter-in-law Jamie, a son-in-law Mike Haddon and four grandchildren: Hannah Haddon, Liam Sparks, Kinsey Sparks and Joshua Sparks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the charity of your choice.
