James Smith

Andrew James "Jamie" Smith, II, age 44, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in a local hospital. Friends are invited to visit at his mom's house, 125 Coggeshall Rd., between 5:00 and 7:00 PM on Friday, May 13. 2016, and at Jamie's request, everyone must wear blue jeans. He wanted a casual gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life. He was born in Florence on February 28, 1972, son of Sherrie Barr Smith and the late Andrew James Smith. Jamie enjoyed being with his friends and loved fishing, camping and cooking out. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed listening to the races. Surviving in addition to his mother, Sherrie, of Darlington, is his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and DeAnna Smith of Darlington, nephews, Dylan Smith and Patrick Causey, his maternal grandmother, Marvie Barr of Florence, two aunts, Emma (Larry) Cobb of Mt. Pleasant, Bonita (Mike) Strickland of Lexington, an uncle, John W. Barr of Georgia and many cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew James Smith, paternal grandparents Andrew and Nora Smith of Andrews and his maternal grandfather, John W. Barr.
