James Philip Salvo

James Philip "Phil" Salvo, age 75, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday, July 31, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday and other times at the home. Born in Conway, SC on October 5, 1942, he is the son of the late James Kelly Salvo and the late Marie Johnston Salvo. Phil retired from Santee Cooper and enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Descendants of Confederate Veterans and Sons of Confederate Veterans, and also a member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Harriet Laban Salvo, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Salvo, all of Darlington, grandchildren: Woods, Austin, Macey, Laynie and Madison; a brother Ray Salvo of Easley, SC , many nieces and nephews and his best friend, Frisky. He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Salvo and a brother, Wayne Salvo. Memorials may be made to Temple Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 287, Darlington, SC 29540.
