James Darrell Ray

James “Darrell” Ray passed away on Saturday, January 10th, 2026. A visitation will be held for him at the Belk Funeral Home in Lamar on Friday, January 16th at 1:00pm. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00pm, then burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Darrell was born December 12th, 1969 to Linda Gail Douglas Ray and Lonnie Alford Ray, Sr. He was a cable technician by trade. Darrell loved his Mama’s cooking and going shopping. He enjoyed making people laugh and he was always piddling with something.

He leaves behind his mother Linda Gail Ray, brother Pete (Liz) Ray, sister Karen Hanna, stepdaughters Karla (McIver) Sturgeon and Judy (Randy) Tingen, stepson Chad (Dawn) Schroeder, brother-in-law Marvin (Janet) Wilson, several nieces, several step-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is his wife Robin Ray, his father Lonnie, and his infant daughter Jessica Marie Ray.

Those who know him will miss him greatly.
