James Lloyd Phillips

James L. "Jimmie": Phillips, age 75, of Darlington, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm Sunday, July 25th in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

Born in Goose Creek, SC on August 17, 1945, he is the son of Theresa King Phillips of Darlington and the late Manuel James Phillips. Jimmie worked out of state in the construction business for many years. He will be remembered for his joking personality and how much fun he was to be around. Jimmie loved his children and grandchildren very much and was happiest when spending time with them, but nothing could beat the Love of his Life, "Debbie Sue". Mr. Phillips was a member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deborah Page Phillips, three children; James L. "Jimmie" Phillips, Jr. of Darlington, Page Phillips (Scott) Willis of Murrells Inlet, Joseph M. "Joey" (Julie) Phillips of Florence, 5 wonderful grandchildren: Harrison Willis, Caroline Willis, Brody Phillips, Abby Grace Phillips and Hoban Phillips; his sister Sandra "Sandy" Phillips Campbell of Darlington and his loving canine friend, "Sparkles". Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, The American Heart Association, or a charity of one's choice.
