Aiden Kimrey

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James Aiden Kimrey, who left us far too soon on August 22, 2026, at the age of 22. Aiden was a bright light in our lives, born in Georgetown County on September 12, 2003, to Tanya Hudson Allen and Jimmy Adrian Kimrey. His infectious smile and quick wit brought joy to all who knew him.

A proud graduate of the South Carolina Governors School class of 2022, he was a student at the University of South Carolina Honors College, two semesters away from graduating with an engineering degree with honors. His curiosity and enthusiasm for learning shone brightly. Aiden was always eager to share fun facts and make people laugh. Whether he was skateboarding, white-water rafting, or binge-watching his favorite anime, Aiden approached life with a sense of adventure and a zest that was truly infectious. He was currently working as emergency vehicle operator.

Aiden will be lovingly remembered by his mother and stepfather, Tanya and Kevin Allen, his father, Jimmy Kimrey, and his siblings, Micah, Caleb, and Emily. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Toni Hudson, along with aunts and uncles, Billie Rae (Chad) Harrelson, Eileen (David) Anderson, Beth (Cliff) Jones, Holly Haire, Mary (Kenneth) McClain, Rachel (Brian) Hoffman, Sherri Gaito, grandfather; James (Carol) Allen, and nephew Coast Guinn, and many cousins who cherished him deeply. Also surviving are his friends, Greyson Johnson, Evan Crews, Trevor Chappell, Kelsey Drake, Sawyer Cromer, Dillon Elliott, Avery McBrayer, Kobe Jiang, Landon Cooke, Ranse Hatchell, Gary Altman, Zoha Rheman, Skyler Larymore, Jackson Matthews, Josh Odom, Austin Stafford, Dominic Wierschem, Tyler Harris, Dylan Burgess, Brock Johnson, Zach Hayward, Wyatt Scheppers, Kayla Davenport, Thomas Kent, Madelyn Munshower, Anna Caroline Stone, Cates Bicknese, Robert Lynch, Dawson Francis. Though Aiden has left this world, his spirit and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

We invite everyone who knew and loved Aiden to join us for a celebration of his life. A funeral service will be held at Belk Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 12:00 PM. Friends and family will be welcomed to gather one hour prior to the service to share stories and memories of Aiden.

As we say our goodbyes, we remember Aiden not with sadness, but with gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with him. His light will continue to shine in our hearts, and he will never be forgotten.

Aiden joins the stars above, reunited with his grandparents: William Hudson, Roger Kimrey, Emmett Kimrey, Jimmy “Tang” Hoffman, and Marcie Rivera, and nephew; Fischer Guinn. May he rest in peace.
