James "Bo" C. Hicks

James "Bo" C. Hicks of Hartsville passed away on Thursday, November 5th, 2026. A visitation will be held for him on Monday, November 9th, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Belk Funeral Home.

“Bo” was born on January 3rd, 1951 in Darlington County to Colon Harrison Hicks and Mary Lois Gainey Hicks. He worked in construction most of his life, which aided to his love of junking and tinkering with things. Bo was very outgoing, always active, busy, and hustling. He was talented at paint and body work and enjoyed life’s little things like raking leaves and pulling weeds.

He leaves behind his daughters: Shannon (Bobby) Goolsby and Sharon (Michael) Odom. His grandson Brandon Odom. Bo’s siblings: Johnnie Lee Hicks and Daphine Hicks Weber. As well as his special companion “Boomer” his Yorkie.

Preceding him in death is his wife Frances Anita Gainey, his parents, siblings: Patsy Jean Hicks Waters, Linda Faye Hicks King, and Joyce Elaine H. Talbert.
