Helen Woodle Warr

Helen Woodle Warr, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday July 20, 2023. Visitation will be held at Belk Funeral Home on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Belk Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Philadelphia SMC cemetery.

Helen was born in Florence on September 7, 1935 to the late Presley and Thelma Watford Woodle.  She was married for 60 years to the love of her life Marion L. "Tommy" Warr.  She worked at Nytronics for many years where she was a supervisor. She loved working in her yards and cherished her family and church. Helen always loved sharing her testimony with everyone she met as she loved her Lord and Savior. She was a long time member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church, before moving her membership to Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church.

She leaves behind her daughters Debra (David) Lyons of Tennessee and Marie (Johnny) Melton of Darlington.  Grandchildren Rhonda (Chris) Anderson, Susie (Mark) Daniel, Morgan (Travis) Windham, Josh Melton, Johnny (Jennifer) Melton, Jr and Jon (Tori) Lyons. Along with twelve great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, two brothers Ronald and Julian Woodle, and sister Thelma Ann Williams (John) of Michigan, many nieces and nephews and her feline companion, Tahoe.

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Warr, her infant son, Tommy LeVan Warr,  two sisters, Margret Matthews, Nobie McElveen, and three brothers, Johnny Woodle, Randolph Woodle, and Preston Woodle.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the sitters that took wonderful care of Helen, Judy Gainey, Emily Kelly, and Tiesha Muldrow.
