Helen Marie Killion passed away at home, surrounded by family on Friday, September 5th, 2025. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, September 17th at 11:00am in St. Matthews Anglican Church in Darlington, SC. A reception will immediately follow in the Parish Hall.
Helen was born on June 28, 1943, in Jacksonville, Florida to Henry Aubrey Schwartz and Evelyn Smith Schwartz. Helen dedicated her life to her family and her work. She touched the lives of many during her career as a bookkeeper, where her keen mind and compassionate spirit left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of working alongside her. Helen is survived by her four devoted daughters: Mary Knight-Williams of Darlington, Vicki Allen of Darlington, Tamera Moe of Mableton, GA, and Taresa Gilbert OF Mableton, GA. Her brother Michael J. Schwartz of Middleburg, FL. Helen's grandchildren: Amanda Ross of Darlington, Alvester (Dinky) Allen, Jr. Michael "Stephen" Knight, II of Myrtle Beach, Ashley Hill of Fountain Inn, Tiffani Allen of Austell, GA, Arilyn Gilbert of Leitchfield, KY, Marisa Allen of Mableton, GA, and Nathaniel Gilbert of Mableton, GA. Her great grandchildren: Haley Hall, Alysa Hall, Xavier Hill, Christopher Allen, Christian Hill, and Logan Gilbert. Her Great-great grandchildren Genesis and Ja'kai Allen. She nurtured them with unconditional love and wisdom, instilling in each a deep sense of integrity and kindness that will continue to resonate through their lives. To learn to play the hand you are dealt.
Preceding her in death are her parents: Henry and Evelyn, brother Henry Schwartz, Jr., grandson Vincent Aubrey Moe. Helen's caring nature and gentle heart made her a source of comfort and strength for all who knew her. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and warmth. The family invites all who knew and loved Helen to join them in commemorating her life, allowing us to find solace in one another during this challenging time. Helen Marie Killion's spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved her, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in her extraordinary journey.
