Harvey Byrd

Harvey Byrd, age 81, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his residence. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12 in Belk Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 13 at 3:00pm in Dovesville Church of God, with burial following in the church cemetery.

Harvey was born in Dillon, SC on May 25, 1941. He was the last surviving child of the late Frank Byrd and Nettie Vann Byrd. Harvey worked with Georgia Pacific for many years. He loved spending his free time hunting, fishing, and riding his horses.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Katie Mae Gainey Byrd, daughters, Annette Kemmerlin and Mary Kemmerlin, along with his grandchildren, Ashley (Tracie) Clark, TJ (Autumn) Kemmerlin, great-grandchildren Landon Owens, Sawyer Clark, Kessleigh Kemmerlin, and Dawson Kemmerlin, along with several nieces, nephews and special sister-in-law, Betty Kelly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Purvis, Charles, Buddy, June, Jerry, Richard, and sisters, Ruth, Mary, and Mance.
