Happy Clark

Mary "Happy" Louise Gandy Clark, age 74, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15th at Temple Free Will Baptist Church, with burial following in Darlington Memory Gardens, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born June 2, 1943, Happy is the daughter of the late Hobson "Hop" Gandy, and Laura Atkinson Gandy. She was a devoted housewife and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. Happy was a member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church, and loved to help raise money for missions, and enjoyed attending Temple Treasures. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, George E. Clark, Jr.; her daughter, Angie (Rev. Bill) Dority; her son, George Clark, III, both of Darlington; her grandchildren, Kyle Clark and his fiancé Rachel, Anna Dority, Jake Clark; her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Lexie, Aiden, and Riley. Also surviving are her sisters, Jessie Lewis and Motie (Buddy) Brown; two very special friends, Jeanette Odom and Marilyn Garrison; her canine companion, Muffin, and her feline companion, Smoke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-grandchild, Alexa Kaye Clark; her siblings, Marion Coleman, Laura Smith, and Hobson Gandy. The family will receive friends Friday, June 14th from 6-8 PM at Belk Funeral Home, and other times at her home, 501 Mineral Springs Rd. Darlington.
