Gwendolyn Baird Jackson

Mary Gwendolyn Baird Jackson, 75, died Thursday, July 9, 2026, after a brief illness. A celebration of life will be held at the family’s residence at a later date.

Gwen was born December 20th, 1950, in Florence County, to the late Julian H Baird and Mary Louise Christmas Baird. Gwen was married to her husband Earl Jackson for 56 years. She was a great wife, loving mother and caregiver. She loved fishing, tending to her flowers, and had a love for animals. She will be remembered as a “fixer” of all problems, and a “knower” of all. Always giving good advice and making you laugh.

In addition to her husband Earl, she is survived by her son; Richard Earl “Dicky” Jackson, daughter; Christie Jackson, grandson; Wells Jackson, a very special Aunt; Melva Baird Christmas, longtime and special friend; Sonja Baker, nieces, nephews, and many fur babies.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents; Julian and Mary, and her sister; Debbie Scurry
