Gladys (Kirkley) Hodges

Gladys Kirkley Hodges, age 99 died Thursday, January 20, 2022. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26th at Lake Swamp Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.

Born August 24, 1922, Gladys was the daughter of the late Julius Kirkley and Ola Hunter Kirkley. She worked in the Cone Department at Sonoco Products Company until her retirement. Gladys was a member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia (Rex) Hodges Moody; many nieces and nephews; sister, Judy Tiller of McBee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Edward Hodges; siblings, Lawson Kirkley, Drew Kirkley, Judson Kirkley, and Grace Plyler.

The family would like to thank the staff of Crescent Hospice Care, and to all the caregivers through the years.
