With sad hearts the family of Geraldine Clements 90, would like to announce to the public that she has passed.

Geraldine entered into rest on June 15, 2024 while at the McLeod Hospice House. The directors of Belk Funeral Home in Darlington SC are caring for the family.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at Belk Funeral Home Tuesday June 18th at 2:00, with Reverend Tim Skipper officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00.

Born in Darlington SC, she was the daughter of the late Winston and Juanita Melton.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Leroy (J.L.) Clements, sister Miriam Simpson Hall, brothers, Robert Melton, Hazel Melton.

Surviving nieces are , Mary Weatherford, Kara Freeman, Alice Stevens, nephew Ronald (Janice) Melton, niece Gina (Tony) Windham, Rita (Leland) Bullard

She deeply loved her family and took care of them with compassion. She cooked huge meals for them for many years and delivered it to the home.

She baked cakes and took meals to her neighbors when they were sick and visited the nursing home with cakes weekly while living in Lamar, SC. She said this was her ministry.

She catered for Ann Warr for several years ending her catering career with Gay Tallon for 25 years. During her time there Gerald said she baked enough cakes to fill several rooms and hundreds of chocolate pies.

We would like to thank The Legacy of Hartsville for their love for Gerald in caring for her. Special thanks from the family to Zonia and Crissy. Gerald loved you both.

We would also like to thank McLeod Hospice House for their care of Gerald . We thank you all for your excellent care and love for not only Gerald but all that enter in .A special thanks to Dr. Vipul Shah for your excellent care and compassion . May God richly bless you .
