George William Kornegay

George William Kornegay, age 72, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, November 12th in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home. Born in Providence, RI on June 20, 1945, he is the son of the late George and Martha Forrest Kornegay, but was lovingly raised by his Aunt Bessie. George served his country in the United States Navy, where he worked as an electrician, repairing planes aboard an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. He then went to work for Ben Arnold-Sunbelt, retiring after forty years as a salesman. He enjoyed watching Gamecock football and will be remembered as a man who worked hard to provide for his family. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his sons and daughters-in-law, Sean and Melanie of Summerfield NC and Brian and Ann of Singapore, and his grandchildren: Reagan, Addison, Kruz and Karmen.
