Gene Knight Mccallum

Gene Knight McCallum, age 68 passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Lexington, KY. A graveside service will be held 1:00pm Thursday, December 8th in Parnassus United Methodist Church Cemetery in Blenheim, SC directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm Thursday in Parnassus United Methodist Church. Born December 25, 1947; Gene is the son of the late James Knight McCallum and Mary Elizabeth Atkinson. He served in the U.S. Air Force; and then worked for Galey & Lord in Society Hill until his retirement. Gene enjoyed tinkering with old cars and jeeps, and woodworking. He also enjoyed guns, knives, and attending gun and knife shows. Surviving are his daughter, Debbie (Craig) Carver of Dalzell, SC; his grandchildren, Callum Carver and Kieren Carver; his sister, Jewell Coxe of Bennettsville; and a number of nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Wheeler McCallum. Memorials may be made to Parnassus United Methodist Church on Parnassus Rd. Blenheim, SC 29516.
