Francis Rodney Dewitt

Francis Rodney DeWitt, age 73, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 29th at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, 3061 Wesley Chapel Rd. Lamar, SC 29069, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service, and other times at 204 Philadelphia St. Hartsville.

Born November 3, 1946, Rodney was the son of the late Hallie DeWitt and Frances Suggs DeWitt. He worked as a fireman for the city of Hartsville for over 20 years. He enjoyed racing, watching wrestling, painting ceramics with his daughter, and love to eat and fellowship with friends and family. Rodney loved his church and his church family at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a member of their men's club and enjoyed working their annual barbeques.

Surviving are his daughter, Michelle (Perry) Langston; grandchildren, Lexie Langston and Cody Langston; great-grandchildren, Carson and Paxton Langston; sister, Elizabeth DeWitt.
