Frances Gandy Pearman, age 92, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, December 28, 2023. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 31st from the times of 2:00pm until 3:00pm in Black Creek Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation in the church at 3:00pm, with interment following in Black Creek Cemetery.
Frances was born in Darlington County on January 26, 1931, she is the daughter of the late Ralph Edward Gandy and Eline Durant Gandy. She graduated from St. John's High School and went on to graduate from Winthrop in 1951. Frances worked as a schoolteacher for many years in Columbia and Charlotte. In addition to teaching school, she was a wonderful volunteer at her church and a terrific homemaker. Frances was a very talented cook and was best known for her amazing lemon pound cake. Later in life, after her retirement you could always find her volunteering at her church or in her community which she loved. She was a faithful member of Black Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving Frances are her children, Kathy (Tim) Barbee of Locust, NC, and Danny (Kristy) Pearman of Clemson, SC, grandchildren: Margaret, Noah and Sam Barbee and Taylor, Trent and Tanner Pearman.
In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Larrime Pearman, Sr. and her siblings, Ralph Gandy and Betty Kirven.
In memory of Mrs. Pearman memorials may be made to the Black Creek Baptist Church at 137 Mont Clare Road Darlington, SC 29540.
