Frances O'Neal Boggs Greer

Frances O’Neal Boggs Greer, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10th, 2026. A funeral service is being held on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Bethea Retirement Community.

Frances was born on May 17th, 1936 to the late Perry Leland and Evelyn Godfrey Boggs. Fran was raised with her brother Perry in Greer, SC. Fran married Grady lee Greer and they later moved to Darlington, South Carolina where their three children were raised. A graduate of Winthrop, Fran was a teacher at St John’s Elementary and later changed careers to become the Activities Director and then Director of Marketing at Bethea Retirement Community in Darlington. It was there that she resided and received loving care in her final years. Fran was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florence, where she loved being a member of the Caring Friends Sunday School Class.

Fran is preceded in death by her parents and brother Perry. Surviving are her children Deborah (Ferd) Gregorie, Pamela (Chuck) Petty, and Bret (Marla) Greer, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and her beloved niece and nephew, Erin and Josh Boggs.
