Faye Wright

Rodie Faye Wright, age 76, of Lamar, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.  A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 3rd, in Fair Hope Cemetery. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery. (Visitation will be held in Fair Hope Presbyterian Church if raining)

Born on September 28, 1947, in Sumter County, Faye was the daughter of the late Heyward and Marjorie Atkinson Poole.  She was a homemaker and farmed alongside her husband for years.  She made the best sweet tea and 7 layer chocolate cakes.  She loved drinking coffee and talking, fishing, and watching music videos.

Surviving is her husband of 58 years, John Wesley Wright, her son, John Arnold (Joann) Wright of Lamar, a brother, Gene "Nuk" (Linda) Poole of Sumter, three nieces she loved and helped raise: Bessie Mae (Tony) Sutton, Donna James, and Terrie (Jimmy) Bell, along with many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved precious daughter, Susan Rae "Susie" Wright, her parents, several sisters, a brother, sister and brother in laws.
