Eula Mae Rogers Davis, age 90, passed away June 17, 2024 at the McLeod Hospice House. Eula was born in Darlington on May 29, 1934, to the late Fred and Marie Baker Rogers.
She worked until her retirement at Nytronics in Darlington, and later owned a store where she was well known for the best hot dogs and burgers and was famous for her homemade chili. One of her best customers was the train conductor, which would stop his train almost every day, to have one of Eula's best hotdogs. She met and made a lot of friends this way, and with her kind heart.
She is survived by her sons, Donald O'Neal, Jerry (Gayle) O'Neal, and a daughter Angie O. Suggs. Also sisters Gertrude R. Burgess of Flint, MI and Sybil (Jody) Davis of Darlington. Grandchildren Trina Suggs, Jackie (JJ) Suggs, Tara O'Neal, Keith O'Neal (Lisa), Amy Thomas, and Christy Mead. Great grands Hailey McCoy, Breanna Suggs, Hayley (Zac) Alexander, Ashley Mead, Mat Thomas, Hunter Thomas, Wells Jackson, Mia Altamirano, Jasmine Altamirano and Holley Mead, and one great great grandson, Kolton Suggs.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willard Davis and her son, Roger W. Huestess, also by her sisters, Kathleen R. Odom and Earleen R. Sanders.
A visitation will be held from 3:00pm until 4:00pm in Belk Funeral Home, with a funeral service following in the chapel at 4:00pm. Burial will immediately follow the service in Grove Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the home of Angie Suggs at 1973 Harry Byrd Hwy in Darlington.
