Eugenia 'Jean' Bazen Weaver, age 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, December 8, 2015. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home, with a visitation following the service.
Born June 14, 1941, Jean is the daughter of the late Herman Eugene Bazen, and the late Margaret Louise Parnell Bazen. She worked as a private duty nursing assistant for several years and was loved and adored by her patients. Jean's greatest joy in life came from helping others. She loved the Lord, and was a compassionate person who touched many lives with her loving and giving spirit. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing church hymns on the piano. Jean enjoyed decorating for the holidays and looked forward to family gatherings with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, David Weaver of Darlington; her three daughters, Dixie Creel of Florence, Holly (Charles) Wilson of Wilmington, and Angela 'Angie' Weaver of Darlington; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; her brother, Edwin F. 'Moon' (Pat) Bazen of Darlington; her sister, Rose (William 'Termite') Bazen Briggs of Lamar; her closest and dearest childhood friend, Shelda Dutton, and two very special inspirational friends, Margaret "Marjo" Wilson and Kathryn Melton.
Jean was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dixon Z. Weaver, Jr., her son-in-law, Ernest T. Ard, and her daughter-in-law, Joan Weaver.
