Eugene L. Sylvester

Eugene Lewis Sylvester age 92 of Florence passed away on May 12, 2023 after an extended illness peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr Gene was born in Sandpoint Idaho April 10, 1931 to the late Eugene Vernon Sylvester and Louise Kiser Sylvester. He was retired from Union Carbide, L-tec, Esab after 26 years of service. He was a faithful member of Northgate Baptist Church for 50 plus years. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, watching football and Nascar and working in his shop! He always loved his family and their gathering's and cookouts.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brothers Don Sylvester, Walter Sylvester, Marvin Sylvester, and Shirley Reynolds, sons William "Little Gene"Sylvester, Steven Sylvester..

Mr Sylvester is survived by his wife of 73 years Sara Sylvester, sons Phillip (Diane) Sylvester, Hartsville Terry (Wendy) Sylvester Florence Grandchildren Billy Sylvester (Angel), Pat Sylvester (Kim), Phil Sylvester Jr.  (Roni), Jennifer Gainey, Meg Sylvester Davis (JD), Kristin Sylvester Poston (Shane),Dale Sylvester (Kristen), Adam Sylvester, 12 Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm on May 15, 2023 at Belk Funeral home and Funernal services held at 2pm. Burial will folllow at Darlington Memory Gardens directed by Belk Funeral Home.
