Era Windham Andrews passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on September 4, 2025. She was born January 27, 1938 in rural South Carolina and spent her entire life in Lamar- either on 5350 Lamar Highway or "across the swamp" visiting her family. Era was the daughter of the late Josie Willie and Maggie Lou Windham, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family brought her the greatest joys of her life, and the entirety of her life was spent with them in her mind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Eli Andrews; her brothers, James "Buddy Roe" Windham, Harry Windham, Josie "Jr" Windham; her sisters, Mary Parnell, Willow Dean Windham, and Edna Bouie. Surviving to carry on "Nanny's" love and legacy are her beloved son, Alvin Eli Andrews of Lamar; grandchildren, Michelle (Yarrow) Babb of Florence and Murphy Monk of Hartsville; the apples of her eye, her great-grandchildren, Kate, Emma, and Ben Carter of Florence and Margaret Monk of Hartsville. Nanny spent her career at ESAB Welding and Lamar Manufacturing. For her 2nd shift daily, a hot meal was on the table by 5:15 PM SHARP! She then spent the remainder of her day visiting family, and catching up on the "news." She continued to care for her great-grandchildren into her late eighties, and this brought her immense joy. Nanny was a caregiver and lover to her core, and she provided a love for others that was unrivaled. As a reflection of her love of children, memorials can be made to McLeod Children's Hospital. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 7 at Belk Funeral Home Chapel from 2-3, with a service immediately following at 3. A burial will be held after the service at Lamar Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
