Ella Mae Wright

Ellamae Wright, age 68, passed away in the hospital on Monday, October 16, 2023. A graveside service will be held at Lamar Cemetery at 3:30 on Friday, October 20, 2023.

She was born on July 10, 1955 in Darlington County, daughter of the late Homer Jones and Ruby Lee Squires Knotts. Ellamae was a very strong independent woman. She always loved working in her yards and sitting outside at her patio table. She enjoyed spending time with her family, always having a good talk and laugh. Ellamae enjoyed drinking black coffee and a good cold coke. She was the youngest of four children.

She is survived by her children, Richard Dean Wright and Edwin Brent Wright, grandchildren, Trey and Allie Wright, and her brother, Joe Jones.

In addition to her parents, Ellamae is preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Smith, Martha Ann Knotts and Barbara Watford.
