Elizabeth Moody Staton

Elizabeth "Lib" Moody Staton, age 96, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home, with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Born August 14, 1922, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Clarence L. Moody and Corrie Isgett Moody. She retired as a clerk for CP&L after 39 years. She enjoyed doing yard work and visiting nursing homes and shut-ins and bringing them candy. Elizabeth was a member of Central Baptist Church in Darlington. Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Brenda Oakley of Florida, Manly Moody, Jr. of North Carolina, Willie Moody of Hartsville, and other extended family members. Also surviving are her good friends, Myrtle Weatherford and Ellen Register. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.W. Staton; her brothers, Ed, Adger, M.J., Robert, and her sister, Lila.
