Elizabeth Anne Register, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on August 21, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, August 23rd, in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 pm in the church fellowship hall. She was Born on April 8, 1936, in Darlington County, South Carolina, daughter of the late J. Charles “Buddy” and Ruby Grace Stokes Jordan.
An active member of Pine Grove Methodist Church, Anne devoted many years to teaching Sunday School and participating in various Methodist Women’s groups, greatly impacting the lives of those within her church community. Her compassionate spirit extended beyond the church as she enjoyed crocheting and knitting, using her talent to create lap blankets for residents in nursing homes, spreading comfort and warmth to those in need. When she wasn’t busy crafting, Elizabeth loved immersing herself in a good book. She and her late husband, Bud, always enjoyed square dancing together.
Ann was also active and passionate about her work as a caregiver to the elderly and advocate for the mentally handicapped. She managed the scheduling of caregivers providing services for specified clients. Anne served on the board of the Darlington County Disabilities and Special Needs Foundation. She was instrumental in the growth of the Group Homes Program. Both she and her husband "Bud" were honored by one of the group home properties being named "The Register House".
She is lovingly survived by her children, Patricia (Jim) Olsovsky of Cypress, TX, John Edward Register of Hartsville, and Allen (Bonnie) Register of Columbia. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kim (John) Hayes, Jennifer (Ryan) Baldwin, David (Ashley) Register, and Patrick (Anita) Register, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Kylie, Zach, Kate, Nate, Caden, Aurelia, and Bodi.
In honor of Anne’s life and the many ways she touched others, a graveside funeral service will be held on August 23, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, located at 3544 Timmonsville Hwy, Timmonsville, SC 29161.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Elizabeth’s spirit and the love she shared with all during a visitation in the fellowship hall one half hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove United Methodist Church or to the Darlington County Disability and Special Needs Board Foundation, located at 201 Damascus Church Rd, Hartsville, SC 29550, to continue Elizabeth's legacy of service and compassion.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Able T. “Bud” Register.
