Eldred "Dusty" Rhodes

Eldred G. "Dusty" Rhodes, age 87, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23rd at Grove Hill Cemetery. Those who wish to pay their respects to Dusty may do so Friday between 1-5 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington.

Born on August 14, 1933, Dusty was the son of the late James Foster Rhodes and Maebelle Odom Rhodes. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic, and then worked as a parts manager for several automotive dealerships. Dusty will be remembered for his sense of humor and for being a gentleman. He was a member of The Free Will Baptist Bible Church.

Surviving are his sons, Larry D. (Julie) Rhodes and Wayne A. (Pat) Rhodes; grandchildren, Shelly (Jamie) Ogburn, Kelli (James "Rusty") Foster, Katie Rhodes, Jessica (Brandon) Culpepper, Ryan Rhodes; several great-grandchildren; and his sister, Margie Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Viola B. Rhodes; and his sisters, Fostine Lloyd and Pauline Rhodes.
