Edward Mauldin

Edward "Ed" Mauldin, age 85, died at his home on Thursday, May 2, 2019, surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, May 5, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 Sunday at the funeral home. Born in Scotland County, NC, Ed's father died at a young age and he was raised by his mother, Lucy Sessoms Mauldin. He retired from Delta Mills (JP Stevens) after 42 years of employment. Mr. Mauldin enjoyed watching NASCAR, and loved to be on his mower cutting grass or doing yard work. He was member of Palmetto Street Church of God. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Vonnie Williams Mauldin, their children: Barbara Springs, Linda Smith all of Darlington, Edward Clifton (Connie Dee) Mauldin of Mt. Holly, NC and Michael Mauldin of Columbia, grandchildren: Edward (Dawn) Mauldin, Jr., Kirby Springs, Charles Michael (Kellie) Mauldin Christopher (Jerrica) Davis, Victoria McCormick and her fiancé, Hunter, Keaton McCauley Mauldin and Kennedi Michelle Mauldin, and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his siblings, David, Calvin, James and Nettie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 744806 Atlanta, GA 30374-4806 or the National Kidney 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016 or a medical research charity of one's choice.
