Ed was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia James; their children, Ricky (Cheree) James; Debbie (Glenn) Suggs and a constellation of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy: Josh (Becky) Suggs, Tyler Suggs, Ryan (Kelsey) James, Mark (Jessica) James, as well as Perielle Suggs, Colt, Reed, Elly, McKoy, and Lucy James. He was a caring figure whose legacy will live on through his family, who will forever remember him for his warmth and unwavering support.
A man of many talents, Ed proudly served for 25 years in the National Guard as a Medic, showcasing his commitment to service and compassion for others. In addition to his military dedication, he worked for the United States Postal Service and spent countless hours tending to the land he loved as a farmer. His passion for agriculture was evident, often eliciting playful remarks from Sylvia that he loved farming "too much." Operating his farm equipment brought him great joy, and he often found solace in the fields that nurtured his spirit.
Ed also had a zest for life outside of his work; he was an avid drag racing enthusiast, finding exhilaration in the thrill of the race. His adventures on the track were a testament to his spirited nature, always eager to embrace new experiences.
