Edward James "E.J." Cooper of Darlington, South Carolina passed away on January 17, 2024. Anyone who would like to come by and share memories and speak to the family can do so between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday at Belk Funeral Home.

E.J. was born in Coward on April 12, 1939, son of the late Douglas Lee Cooper and Mitty McCallister Cooper. E.J. worked at Nucor Steel for many years.  Surviving E.J. is his wife, Joyce Cooper, daughters Myra Fraley Mims (Larry) and Sandra Rohrer Milczewski (Dr. Joseph). His grandchildren, Mia Grimsley (Daniel), Benjamin Lowry, Alexis Rohrer, and great grandson Keaton Jackson. He was the last of eight siblings. His brothers were Junior, Elvin, Harry, Arthur, and Hoyt. His three lovely sisters, Mary McCutcheon, Irene Hughes, and Ann Hill preceded him. His special nephew, Larry McCutcheon, was his best friend. We thank you for taking the time to be there when he needed you.

Preceding him in death is his first wife, Mary Louise Nolan , his son, James Edward  "Bubba" Cooper , and granddaughter Mary Fraley.
