Edna Lawhon Helms

Edna Lawhon Helms, age 83 passed away on Tuesday, November 09, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13th at Crown Memorial Park in Pineville, NC, directed by Belk Funeral Home.

Born on June 13, 1938, Edna was the daughter of the late Otis Marion Lawhon and Julia Mae Flowers Lawhon. She worked as a secretary for many years until her retirement. Growing up, Edna attended Black Creek Baptist Church in Darlington and later attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church in North Carolina. She loved spending time with her children, her grandchildren, and her friends.

She is survived by her three children, Cliff (Barbara) Brown, Tammy Brown, and Kerrie (Chris) Phillips; two grandchildren, Vaughn Phillips and Sloane Phillips; and her sister, Marian Braswell of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Julian "Bubba" Spy Lawhon.
